Too late to fertilize tropical hibiscus?

I have 3 hibiscus plants that I have had for a year and a half. I bought another one this summer and realized that my older ones have leaves that are a much paler green than the dark glossy leaves of the newer one. I figured the older ones needed fertilizer: I asked here earlier this year but it took me a while to find fertilizer with a higher middle number.

Is it too late to fertilize now? All have plenty of buds, though not as many as the newest plant. They will all be brought into the house when frost threatens. Frost will come sometime in the next month, usually late in October.

Thanks!

Feed it with 1 tablespoon Epsom salts and 1 gallon of water every month. The leaves will "green up".
