Transplanting?

When is the best time to transplant a Hibiscus. I live in Michigan.

The darn thing is getting so big, and the limbs are growing straight out of the ground,( sideways, along the ground) I have to take some of binder twine from the hay bales, and tie them up, so they will grow straight up.

Will transplanting help?

They're going to die back any day now, so I wouldn't worry about it. I really don't think transplanting will help, as they will come back next year from the roots, not the current growth.
Next spring, when they come back, you can stake them when the limbs are small to grow correctly.
