I grow my hibiscus in large pots and when I went to move some of them they were rooted through the pots into the ground.Of course that left a few large roots growing in the soil. Will there be any damage to the hibiscus in the pots being some of the roots were left? Will the roots in the ground make a hibiscus next summer(I can hope)?Debbie

There shouldn't be any damage to the hibiscus. Many times people root trim them to maintin a certain size, so they should be fine.
As for growing new hibiscus, (wouldn't that be wonderful!), but if you're talking about tropicals, which I assume you are, the roots would be killed by winter cold anyway.

Long overdue for bigger pots. Plants rooted into ground, torn/cut free CAN be adversely affected, as the roots still in the pot may be mostly old and woody if ground contact has been made long enough. If there is any wilting, that is probably what happened. Repot and keep moist, wait for recovery.
