Hibiscus

I live in north Naples, Florida. I travel a lot on business so I am not much of a gardener, but I have a question for the pros:
These past few months, including summer, the hibiscus plants in my front yard have not bloomed at all Ã¯Â¿Â½ south side, full sun, plenty of water. I walk around my subdivision on a 3 mile circuit almost every day and I have noticed that no one elseÃ¯Â¿Â½s hibiscus plants have bloomed much, either. Some peopleÃ¯Â¿Â½s bushes in the past have been loaded with huge flowers, all the time, but not this year.
Now what is crazy: In the past my Ixora had trouble blooming, even with chelated iron. This year Ã¯Â¿Â½ boom -- big flowers everywhere. Same throughout my subdivision.
Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to make my hibiscus bloom again?

Please post pictures as they may provide us with a few clues.
