Pruning my Hisbiscus

crisx

I'm in Zone 4 (Toronto, On)I just bought My hibiscus this year (about 1 ft tall) and was giving wonderful bloom all year. NOW, winter is upon us and it has no more buds and has some of the leaves are drying up and falling (although stems are still nice and green).

I wanted to know:

What is the best way to prune it (if necessary)?

What time of year can I prune?

How much can I cut off?

Any other autumn/winter advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wait to prune until new vigorous growth returns in spring.

Crisx: you might like to change your information on your member page as it lists you gardening in zone 8?? I see in your question you have mentioned you being from zone 4 Toronto area. A lot of people use the zone information when responding to your questions so you may wish to correct it. Just a thought.
