Braiding Hibiscus

At a garden store, I saw this really neat hibiscus standard tree consisting of two (or three?) separate ones braided together.

I'm wondering if it's possible to braid two or three different types of hibiscus together to get a standard with multicolor blooms. Anyone?

Yes, you have to start out with seedlings - their main branches are more pliable.
I bet there's an article out there on how to do it.

Thanks Barb! Yes, I have a few young ones currently in the propagator.
