Tropical ?

I love Hibiscus and live in zone 5/6. I'd love to grow some tropical Hibiscus but don't want to keep in the house over the winter. Could they be cut back in the fall, stored in a cellar thru the winter then brought back out in early spring into the house till it's warm enough to be put outside. Has anyone tried this?
