Seeds of Cajun Hibiscus

Hello everyone, I would like to ask you - is Cajun Hibiscus really sterile? I have won some auctions for seeds of Cajun Hibiscus on "ebay" (they were inscribed as "tropical hibisucs" or " hibiscus rosa sinensis")- they do not look like the seeds of Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis, but the seller assured me that they are really the seeds of Cajun Hibiscus...They look rather like the seeds of Abutilon - is it possible that in some countries are confused Abutilon and Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis? Thank you very much.

RE: Seeds of Cajun Hibiscus

The scientific name of a plant is the same all over the World, that's why they're used, so that's not it. And, if you mean by sterile that it doesn't self-sow, then yes Cajun hibiscus is sterile.
Abutilon seeds are normally smaller than H. rosa-sinensis.
Here's a site with pictures of Abutilon and rosa-sinensis.
I know there's another site with pics of seeds, but can't remember it and don't seem to have bookmarked it.....
