 o
seeds from tree in Kona

I saw some black seeds/beans in a long pod from a tree on a beach in Hawaii, the big island. There were about 7 to 12 seeds per pod and the pods measured about 9 inches long. I have posted a photo of them on the "Name that plant" garden web forum. I looked online and asked folks at botanical gardens and a nursery here in Kona while on vacation but nobody seems to know for sure so thought somebody on garden web might. (It's not an uncommon tree.) I hope to find out asap so I can see if I can find some I can take back to mainland to make necklaces and crafts but will need to know what they are first. Thanks.
