Lawn

Just moved to Honolulu (military base housing). We have a small patch of grass (I guess you could call it that)...about 20' x 9'. I would like to put a 2' gravel or rock border around the edges and place my potted plants there...leaving the center section for sod.

My problem is with some sort of clump grass around the edges it was about 2' high when we moved in. I almost broke my hoe trying to remove it. Any help in getting rid of this would be appreciated.

RE: Lawn

Welcome to Hawaii's soils. Best way is to take non-selective weed killer (round-up) and carefully spray the grass that you want to kill then the grass should easy to remove. Remember to spray carefully.
