My wife an I will be visiting Kauai, Hawaii next month. Was wondering if anyone has been or know of places to puchase plumerias. I hear the locals are friendly an if ask will maybe give me a one or two cuttings. But in case my infomation is wrong, I like to know where to go to purchase them . Also wanna know if there is a way to prepare them to be brought home. Spray for bugs, one person suggest soaking in a bleach solution. Before bringing cuttings home. All info will greatly needed thanks in advance

RE: Visiting Kauai

Hi Hal,

In Hawaii you'll see little stands in touristy places and I think the airports too with packaged Hawaiian plants for sale. I think these are probably ok to take out of the state (passed by agriculture dept.), but to get a piece from someone's yard might be a different deal. Your own state might have regulations about bringing in such plant material.

Have a wonderful trip.
