Where else should one post a question about BOP, but the HAWAII forum...

I live in central Illinois. My BOP is transplanted from nursery pot into ceramic. It seems to be growing well with new leave, but WHY are they curled up??? It gets sun on the East side of my house...does it need more?? And it gets plenty of water....help please

RE: Bird of Paradise Question...

It actually isn't a Hawaiian plant, it comes from South Africa, a mediterranean climate. Hot dry summers, colder wetter winters. If you're trying to grow it under Hawaiian conditions that might explain why it isn't doing well.
