Visiting Big Island

I'll be staying near Hilo in early October and i'd love to see some private gardens there and/or elsewhere on the Big Island. Help! Also, can anyone put me in touch with any garden clubs on the Big Island?

Make sure you visit the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden. It is AMAZING! One minute you walk through a forest complete with waterfalls and you feel a Hobbit might jump out at any point. Walk a litte furter and you will be rewarded by a spectacular view of Onamea Bay. It is a nature preserve with some of the most beautiful heliconias, gingers, orchids, bromeliads and MANY other exotics. It is a must see!!
