Aloha,
I am curios of anyone's experience with any fig varieties in hawaii, i am on the big island on the very eastern point. The soil is young and very free drained. Some varieties that do decently well are the white kadota and brown turkey. I think figs have a very high potential here for there uniqueness difference from most tropical fruits here. Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks!

Wylie

RE: Goof FIg Vaireties

I have heard there is a type from the Mauritus Islands that "grows nowhere else " that I would like to try if I were in Hawaii , check and see what you can import from there . Also check the giant fruit strains the larger the better .
