I have an 8 foot plant. 2 foot Single stem that separated into two 6 foot plants. It is getting too big for room can it be cut back (maybe 1 of the 6' plants) and then cut up and rooted. I have had plant 27 years and hate to kill it. Any suggestions??

RE: Ti plants

Sure you can cut it back. In fact you might try cutting both the canes about a foot above the branch. Repot using good potting soil and give it some good liquid fertilizer. Just below the cuts you should see new buds, usually 2. You can cut the top parts into 2 or 3 inch sections, lay them sideways about a half inch under the soil keeping them warm and slightly moist until sprouts apear.
