| Is it possible to grow iris on the Big Island of Hawaii? Maybe in Kamuela or the village of Volcano where it is just a tad cooler?
Internet says they won't grow in the state of Hawaii. But we all know that what "everybody knows" is sometimes wrong. |

| You could always try Walking Iris, Neomarica gracilis. |

| If you google Iris in Hawaii you will get considerable info on this subject. see http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/iris/msg111628084584.html |

| I have a couple kinds of iris at 1500 ft elevation, including walking and a pretty blue one that I got from a friend in Hilo. Don't think I've ever seen the big iris here. |
