Liliko'i fruit is empty

Hi. I planted a liliko'i vine about 3 years ago. The first year I got many wonderful fruit. For the last 2 years, however, my vine gets a lot of flowers and a lot of fruit. The fruit comes off, I wait for it to wrinkle, then cut it open. Every single one is hollow - there is a white lining and no seeds. It is very disappointing. Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, is there any way to fix it?

I get mostly seeded fruit from one vine that gets plenty sun.
Another vine that grows in a shaded area often has just empty shells.

I grew both from seeds from a couple of fruit that grew on a friend's vine, so my best guess is the amount of sun. But it could be something else!
