I need a Plumi ID.

I got this plumi from Hawaii about 6 years ago. Its blooming for me here in Michigan now but I have not Idea what it might be. It has a very strong (Normal Plumi) scent. The pic shows the plumi at its peak... It doesn't open much further. It also shows accurately the buds and underside of the blossom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo.

I'm not too sure, very pretty may I add, but if you go to the plumeria forum, I'm sure somebody will know.

Ana... the people at the Plumi forum suggested I come here for an ID. Funny eh. No one has any suggestions on what I have here.

Aloha tommyc!

The color on my computer monitor is very deceiving, and without flower size etc, here is my feable attempt at Id'ing yur plumi.

Could be: Kaneohe Sunburst-deep pink w/large brilliant yellow center, dark red radiating lines, red band on back, 3"-3 1/4" diameter.

Moir - has a mild lemon scent, 3 1/4" diameter or

"Pink 93"- medium sized flower about 2 1/2 inches, narrow petals, nice yellow center, good fragrance.

Hope this helps. Whatever it is its gorgeous! Stoke's tropicals has a great catalogue with lots of plumi's with pics.

I'm glad you took something from Hawaii with you when you moved. You must miss it here.

Aloha... Thanks for suggestions. There isn't much yellow to the middle, just a touch that you have to look for to identify. The blossoms are small 3 inches. The scent I wouldn't say is a mellon... Just the typical Plumeria smell that I would always smell wearing the Leis. I used to live at the Mauna Luan in Hawaii Kai. That was long ago, but I plan on moving there in the next ten years. Buy a small piece of land and build a small house there. Mahalo. Koma Ko'u inoa.

Tommyc, I'm afraid you know more Hawaiian than I! I am learning though. If you are planning to buy land here you better hurry, prices are crazy and demand far outweighs supply. Good luck. sorry I couldn't be more help on your plumie!

Heh Hula Girl... Its Oct 1 2006, I've finally decided I have to get out of Michigan. I've been looking at land in Hawaiian Paradise Park on the Big Island. Looks like I'll be out there in January 07 to look at the lots. Then Summer of 07 will be my move. Aloha Nui Loa. Now you've got to know that one.
