vitex

We have what appears to be a from of vitex. It is not beach vitex because it has pointed, serrated 4-6 inch leaves alternating up the stem. That also eliminates it from the Chaste variety which has smaller leaves in clusters. Blue/violet flowers about 1 1/2 inch, with long, fine arching stamen. I would post a picture but I don't know how on this web site.

Anyway, would like info on culture, size, etc.

RE: vitex

V. trifolia, perhaps?

Wind shelter, good sun, summer moisture, and a 'rich' soil (ie plenty of humus).
