| I took this picture at Moody Gardens where they have a huge glass pyramid with a rainforest planted inside. Boy do I wish I could grow these!
Hope you like.

Great picture. I planted one several years ago because of the unusual bloom. Phil

AJB Why is it you can't grow them in zone 9? They do great for me in zone 7. randy

Really? I'll have to find a source. Do grow them in the ground outside and just protect them during the winter?

Because zone 7 has many weeks of below freezing temps, this plant along with all my other tropicals are grown in containers. They spent the winter indoors before I built a greenhouse. Then their outdoors from spring till fall. I would think in zone 9 they would be landscape plants with some form of overnight protection two or three times during your winter. I can send you a cutting in the spring if you want one. I root a few of them over the winter in the greenhouse. randy
