My mom grew up in Honolulu and Hilo, and she has been looking around for chloranthus spicatus (I'd also seen "chlorantus"), which she said was also called "chicken foot" or "chicken feet." Does anyone know where to find this plant, or if it's sold anywhere? She'd like to get some, but she lives on the mainland where nobody knows what she's talking about, so I'm trying to help her out. Any suggestions appreciated!

Just Google Chloranthus and you will get a lot of info, even some pictures. Look in the Garden Dept. at Wall mart or Home depot for this cactus

It is not a Cactus, but a sub-shrub/tender perennial from south China with fragrant flowers shaped sort of like chicken feet. It is also called Pearl Orchid in China. Traditionally the flowers were used to scent tea. It is one the best house plants that can take shade while still have very fragrant flowers. When the weather warms up, I can send your mom a few cuttings. They are very easy to root, I usually just stick them in a glass of water and pot them up after new roots grow to a few inches in several weeks.

I have been looking for Chloranthus Spicatus for a long time but could not find it in the US. I will appreciate it very much if somebody could help me get this plant.
