Hawaiian taro ID

I acquired this taro plant the other day. The person I got it from said it was a Hawaiian taro – she evidentially got it from Hawaii. It does not look like the taro grown from the local grocers. I have read there are several different types of taro grown in Hawaii. Anyone know the botanic name of this plant?
Thanks for any help.

It looks like there are 300 varieties of taro in Hawaii, so my question is not an easy one. It also looks like I need to cut up the rhizome for an ID. I did find the site below, however.
