Coffe ground...

| Aloha folks. Local Starbucks are offering free coffee ground and I was wondering if it can be used for native Hawaiian plants like palapalai, pohinahina, maile, ohia lehua, alawainui, etc.. I've used 10-10-10 fertilizers (as recommended by some books on growing Hawaiian plants) and fish emulsion on them before.
Do anyone have good experience using coffee ground as fertilizer for native plants?

| Having just returned from Kona and being a regular Starbucks customer... Yeah sure, you can certainly use coffee grounds in your garden for native plants. Just note that grounds are quite acidic, but so is most the native soil. Grounds are just like compost. |
