tomatoe growing problems

I was given a plant growing system where you grow your tomatoes upside down ( you can't get more than an inch into our soil) the plants seem to grow well, except the leaves get big and then shrivel up and die. I was wondering if I water to much or do I have some kind of blight?

Hi - I don't know if this will help you, but I was at Epcot (Disneyworld) last year and they had those tomatos growing upside down in their indoor greenhouse. Maybe someone there can help you? It was very interesting.
