New Slope Problem

bob64

Just had a big tulip tree cut down at the top of a very steep slope due to safety issues (the tree was near the end of its life and dropping big branches regularly near the building and where children play and the tree itself was calculated by the arborist to most likely fall toward the building). The slope now lacks the protection of the canopy but I did not remove the stump. I put some rye grain on the slope and covered it with an old straw blanket I had left over. The building blocks a lot of direct sun from the south but the area does get moderate sunlight. Any thoughts on what to do with this slope come spring time? Fancy terraces will probably not be in the budget for some time, if ever.
