 o
wood heater plans?

Posted by mariposa z7b Tx (My Page) on

Hi, somewhere years ago I saw plans for building a wood fired stove to heat the house with. The plans called for a fire box inside a block sturcture. The space between the firebox and block was filled with sand, with pipes running through the sand to capture the heat using water or air, not sure which. Would appreciate any help in locating plans for something like this. Thanks in advance, Doug

Have you looked into "masonry heaters" ? sounds like they could be of interest to you.

Also, check out http://www.countrysidemag.com. They have their articles archived online and I remember seeing one on how to build a wood burner.
