Root Cellar Ladder?

Hi. We are new members and are building on 10 acres in northern Minnesota so a root cellar is a must for us. As soon as the weather warms up a bit we will start finishing the inside of our smallish, slab-on-grade single story house.

The root cellar is an 8x8x8 space near the middle of the slab that we will access through a trap door.

Obviously no room for a staircase so we have planned on some kind of ladder. I would like to know if anyone has a similar root cellar and what they use for access.
