Frequency of milking for dairy sheep and mastitis

Posted by HumphreyDoh (My Page) on

I'm interested in getting a dairy sheep variety but had some questions regarding milking frequency. When milking sheep on a daily basis, would it be problematic for ewes to occasionally (as in, a couple times a year) have a 48 hour period wherein they are not milked (i.e. skipping a day)? Or would this be likely to result in mastitis or other problems?
Thank you.

What do you plan on doing with the milk?
