| I want to raise a couple of chickens for humane eggs. I have a nasty neighbor. What breed looks the LEAST like a chicken, is a good egg layer, is friendly and rather quiet? I want to tell her they are pet birds...NOT chickens. My grandma had chickens and I loved them as a child, so I am not totally clueless about keeping them. |

| Do a search online for polish and silkie chickens. Silkies are smaller, people really like them - they pretty much are pet birds, very beautiful. I have not had either (have only read about them), hope this helps. |
