Chainsaw help

| Hello,
I have a chainsaw that is fairly old and doesn't have the brand or anything on it anymore but I have a couple questions. 1. The pullcord is locking up when I pull it maybe an inch or two. I disassembled that area and once seperated from the main part of the saw it pulls fine. How can I fix it? 2. I'm thinking about gutting it and replacing alot of the interior and was wondering how simple the removal was. Is it just a matter of a bunch of screws to be removed or more complex?
Thank you for your help and please keep in mind I'm not super mechanically inclined and don't know the names for most of this stuff |

| Sounds like the motor could be locked. Take it back off and see if you can turn the motor with a wrench. If not, take the bar and chain off and try again. This will, at least, isolate the problem and let you gear your questions. Good Luck, Dave |

| Ok how exactly do I try to turn the motor with a wrench? This is my first chainsaw and I'm not even sure how to remove the bar and chain |
