Bug in rye flour

Posted by allenwrench 6 (My Page) on

Found one small winged bug in my rye flour. Flour was about 7 months old. I sieved flour and no other bugs in it. No rancid smell in flour,

Is sieving any bugs out of the flour a good practice to use the flour? Or should such flour be discarded?

RE: Bug in rye flour

well now there are going to be many purists here that tell you to toss it out...I'd stick it in the freezer for a few days and enjoy using it.
