Calcium supplement for Chickens

Posted by gregf 8 (My Page) on

Does anyone know of alternatives to give chickens the calcium they need. I do not have access to oyster shells. It is not cost effective for me to buy a 50lb. bag of ground oyster shell.
Any ideas?

One idea is to save, dry and crush your egg shells. Then give them back to the chickens.

Also, in most places, if chickens free range, additional calcium is not necessary.
