| I didn’t know where to post this but I guess it’s the most appropriate forum.
I just saw a brief documentary about Velvichia mirabilis, a plant described as the ‘missing link’ between gymnosperms and angiosperms. Here’s a photo found on this page (translated from Portuguese).
It grows in South Angola and the Namibian desert.

| Thank you both for your info. No wonder I couldn’t find much with this spelling - but I had to figure it out myself, having only heard it [Vel-vee-tchee-ah], not seen it writen. Well Charles, I just missed that thread on the Trees forum. I’ll go and read it carefuly. Merci ! Olivier. |
