I came back to Winter!

Hello everyone!

I got back yesterday afternoon and there was all kinds of

snow on the ground and now today when I got on the forum it's raining! Maybe the snow will melt?

I miss the spring like weather I've had for 2 months. It got as high as 86 in the FL. Keys.

We had a great time in the South with all the bad weather you probably head about or saw on TV being close but not hitting where we were, both in Flordia and Arkansas.

I have a lot of catching up to do on the forums.

{{gwi:888144}}Connie, so sorry you have to start all over with winter again, so soon,
but hopefully it will be fairly short-lived by comparison to the whole season you would have had
    staying home!!

    We're so glad you're back!

Florida sounds heavenly right now:) We went last year IN JULY!!!!!!!!!! What were we thinking?? It was so hot, but we still had fun, we crammed too much into 6 days though. We went to three of the parks at Walt Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World, left us one day for the beach, wish now we had spent more time at the beach, it was the first time I had ever seen the ocean, much less been in it, it was a blast!!!!!!
so do tell, what did you do while down there????

Thanks for the welcome back Janice and Micke.

With more than a foot of snow in most places of
the yard and two huge piles where the guy who
plowed while we were gone shoved it,it will be
a while till we see grass or spring.

Now to were we went, will all over! Naples, the Keys,
the Gulf area near Bradenton and St Perersburg
to see friends. Next to Orlando and Daytona for
the races. While there our second son and his
girlfriend spent 10 days with us.

We headed southwest to Natchez and toured all the
pre Civil War manshions that were open. Found out
that they were just their winter homes and that
they spent the rest of the year in the East to
get away from the deseases of summer.

Everything was greening up and the spring flowers
and shrubs were blooming + some flowering trees.

There were more millionaires in Natches in the 1850,s
and 60,s until the War than in New York City!

Shreveprot LA. was next and we again so so many
blooming things! The highways had daffidals all
over and how I wanted to pick a bouquet but didn't.

Hot Springs then Heber Springs were stops in
    Arkansas.

We ended up in southern Illinois to visit with
2 uncles and an aunt on my mother,s side of the
family, who are all in their 80,s. Hope I can
still cook like those ladies can if I live that long!

I've left out a lot but didn't want to bore you with details.

Not boring at all! I live vicariously through others, Florida was my first time in my life out of the 4 states (I don't get out much:) So I enjoy hearing about your trip.
Did you drive???? Now Hot Springs, that one is not too far from me (About 4 hours I think?) if you did drive you probably passed right by me on your way to Illinois:)

We have an RV Micke and pull a small car to drive
around in after we park it at a State Park or
    RV Resort.
