I think you should've posted this on the discussion side. Maybe you could re-post it there. Involvement in the society tours - hosta, peonies or others are what make gardening a fun hobby. As long as I have been a member here Ken_Adrian has been advising members to get involved, join the clubs and volunteer. Like him or not folks - this is one piece of advice you should listen to.

Lisa of Putnamgardens invited me on my first MHS garden tour in 2005 because her husband could not make it. I found myself volunteering at the leaf show a couple of weeks later because Lisa's friend Kim needed help and the rest is history.

If you are not already involved in your local garden clubs I'm with Ken..... you should join, volunteer, have a lot of fun and meet new friends.

If someone had told me 20 years ago I would be meeting people online, going to conventions and staying at their homes (Andrea's) and inviting strangers on bus trips and inviting them to my garden I would've thought they were smokin' something.

Get involved. I promise you won't regret it!
