Anyone notice what's happening with search engine?

The results from a search is very, very limited now! I experienced this a couple days ago,
but figured they were just doing maintenance at the time!

Now--I see they have really cleaned house and there's just not much to draw on!!!!! WHY???

RE: Anyone notice what's happening with search engine?

1) Maybe it's maintenance, and is a temporary problem

2) Maybe it is only happening on this forum, for reasons unknown

I discovered a while back that if I wanted to look at really old posts I could find them by typing in a random date...say, Aug 11, 05 (the format GW uses for dates)

Entire threads would show up, and somewhere in each would be that date (or parts of it here and there)

Janice, you are right, I just did it on the Hosta forum with several different dates, and NADA.

However, when I use Aug 11, 05 as my test date and search ALL FORUMS I get a slew of old threads, some dating as far back as 1997.

So, if your "inquiring mind wants to know" why, send an email, and maybe they will answer you.

I emailed them right away, last night--and guess what--they seem to have been *right on it*! It's working again!!! :O)

Thank you--Garden Web folks!!!! :o)
