How has nature surprised you this year? Here are two of mine. The first was in the spring. As I was walking around the garden one morning, I was looking at the newly opening oriental poppies. There was one looking back at me! I laughed out loud at this surprising "face". I'm sure you all know these are the pods that usually fall off as the poppy opens, but there are friends that I sent this picture to that thought it really was bugs.

The second shot was the other day. A walnut outer part (the nut's inside) landed on this little garden fairies head. It looks like she has a hat on.
