Wow Papou your On Stage is downright gorgeous. Thanks for the pic. I'm assuming yours isn't full grown yet--or is it? And what are your light conditions? I don't like the plain green ones, but if I thot they might turn the color of yours, I could plant them permanently. Mary

Mary, On Stage should be as shown in my pic above. If you have a 'plain green one', it looks to me as if it's reverting to its parent....or its something else??
On Stage is very late to emerge in Spring...it is a very slow grower...and gets nicer as it ages. There is another hosta very similar called Kinkaku, and some say its a clone of On Stage. I've learned that once you establish On Stage you should not move it. Mine has grown always in the same location for 5 years now, so it should be close to maturity...its on a reasonably bright location, mostly in shade.

This is a pic of mine from last year. I don't think I took any pics of it this year. Mine always gets almost solid green at the end of the year,but always comes back varigated,as shown in the picture. Phil

This picture was taken in the middle of September. I think the key is to have some morning sun. You can see on some of the leaves that are hidden behind others they are going green.

Thank you all for your pictures and information. Now that I've seen such beautiful specimens, I know now what to look for next spring. And if the two come up green, I'll put them out of their misery. I did notice that they both turned a lovely golden yellow this fall however. I will take extra good care of my Varigated On Stage (which does get AM sun) with the hope that it will someday look like your examples. Thanks. Mary
