Jacobs Ladder

I planted a variegated Jacob's Ladder this summer,and I have a question for any of you who have this plant. I know it's a perrennial,but is it evergreen? We have had many freezes and frosts here in NC,but,aside from sagging down to the ground,it is still green! It looks to be evergreen,but is it? Thanks,Phil

I live in zone 4. We've had quite a few frosts already. My Jacobs Ladders are still green. They will eventually die, but in your warmer zone I'm thinking they might be green all year.

for me....

the plain green with blue flowers was a perennial ....

the variegated one ... a reliable annual [that is sarcasm .. lol] .... it just couldn't take the winter .... in zone 5 .. i gave up after the second ...

this was years ago .. but i seem to think .. they remained an ugly green clump all winter long.. in other words.. they did not die back to the ground .... if that is the question you were asking ...

who knows what it will do in your zone .... but don't be surprised if it dies .... depending on your microclimate ....
