Come, walk with me some more--I love to share the *peace*!!

You ever want to reach through your monitor and grab folks to come sit with you in your gardens?
That's how I feel--even with sunsets--I can't stand not sharing the view with someone else.

If 'peace' could be shared--that's what I want to do for all my hosta friends!!!

view into secret garden

ophir with tall scapes

The barrel (below) is my garden memorial to my parents! They were married in the month of June (H.June planted behind the Inpatiens)
and my mother loved 'Stella D'Oro' daylilies. She had 4 barrels full of them across the deck of their N.C. mountain-home! The lily
planted in this barrel is similar, but named 'Many Happy Returns'! I like the lemon-yellow and name in this context! I do have many
of her lilies in my front-yard beds.

I brought the temporary grave markers home with me, once the permanent one was in place and now I
always have them on display in this 'memorial'!

The first pic. was taken in June and the second yesterday:

Just makes me smile!

And, a 'taller' view of what 'makes me smile':

Love this view left of swing!

This pic. spotlights 'H.Kiwi Full Monty' sent to me last year, as a surprise, by 'BluePoppy'! Haven't seen her posting this year
I need to email her and see if she's okay! She needs to see how well it's doing in my garden!!!

First Frost/kiwi full M./Gunsmoke/June

The next three shots are in front of a work area attached to our detached 2-story garage
that my husband is enclosing this year! He built the garage about 30 yrs. ago!
You'll probably notice some obviously 'unfinished' touches! But, I'm doing my part--plenty of annoying 'input'
and working on painting! I'm thinking of painting the door 'Cottage Red', like I did the windows, on the sides!

And, now a peek up the pathway to my 'Secret Garden' that needs more 'tweeking' of late:

I've enlarged this bed more, since the last set of pix:

Now--I have plans--for even more hosta, hehehe:

Thank you for looking at what I've been up to, and I hope you've sensed the peace I enjoy
when I'm walking in my garden!!

Thank you so much. Your garden is absolutely outstanding!!! I love how you mix the hostas with so many other shade loving plants---heuchera, lungwort, lamium just to name a few I recognized. The color and foliage contrast is just wonderful. Feel free to post pictures any time--I just love them.

Oh---thank you, ALL, on this side of the thread, too! You ALL are great enablers, spuring me on
to continue getting more hosta, more *companion* plants and doing all the back breaking work!!
But, the *pay-off* is very rewarding--I think!! :o)

I hope any of you just starting out, will realize it is a very worthwhile task--creating a hosta-haven
in your own yards! It just gets better and better each year thereafter!!

Thanks, again,
Janice

Just beautiful,Janice! I bet you don't even spend any time in the house, during the summer,do you? I try to spend some time in my garden, too, but gardening there is a real task, because nothing there is level ground! Also,I get no help from my wife,so it's all on me. Mine may never be as full as lush as yours, but I keep trying! I see your new place for more hosta. You may need to think small hosta, rather than medium,or large. Keep up the good work, and yes that is peaceful, when you are not hard at work, that is! Lol! Phil

Janice, your garden is absolutely wonderful. I think I will start posting your and others' gardens on my fridge for inspiration-like some do with 'skinny pix" to help with dieting-these will help me keep going even in the *#@%& heat and humidity here in Alexandria! Thanks! Cynthia

Okay, here I sit in February wishing I never did a Hey J search tonight to come up with all your garden pictures. Now how am I supposed to get through the rest of the winter after going through these gorgeous tours? I need so many more whiskey barrels that I can't even think about it. What a transformation from when you first came here. All I can think about is the awful backbreaking work you put in -- are you ever going to stop and one summer just enjoy such beauty? Oh, my head is buzzing with ideas and it's freezing outside!
It is so kind of you to share your pictures with everyone.
Pat
