Wonderful pictures as usual.!!!!

Question. Do you make individual pictures or do you just store on the computer? I recently had to download all my photos and I messed up and now they are random snaps instead of in order! I could kick myself but that won't change things.

I am so not computer knowledgeable.

Hi Connie. I'm not exactly sure what you are asking? My pictures are stored in a "my pictures" file on my computer. When they come off the camera they go into a holding file until I get around to dating them and naming them. The dated ones that are general garden shots go into a file by month. The hostas have the date then I add the name and put them in a file that is alphabetic (by year). My computer gets full! Fortunately my husband is a computer person and he add memory etc. when necessary. I do sort of panic that they are not all safely saved somewhere else and everytime my computer has a glitch I truly panic that I've lost everything. Some are stored in duplicate on his computer downstairs and some on another drive??? I don't get the download thing you were talking about. When I want to add pictures for the forum, I put them on Photobucket and go from there.

I see you're going to be away. Have a great vacation (even without a computer). Myrle

Imageevent.com is the best photo storing site IMHO. After I load photos from my camera to my computer, I then upload all the photos to Imageevent.com. The bad photos are then deleted from Imageevent.com but they are still retained on my computer (I don't know why I save them but I do). A nice thing about Imageevent.com is all the photos are the same size as what is stored on my computer so it provides a backup to my computer photos (it would be cumbersome to get them back from there but it would be possible and I think they will someday add an enhancement to download photos back to your computer). Photos do not have to be resized to post on the forums, just pick the size you want to post.

When I store photos on my computer they get this filename YYMMDD.01.Description. The 01 is a sequence number so if I use more than one memory stick on a day, photos with different descriptions (family photos & Hosta photos for example) or if photos are coming from different cameras they get a different sequence number. I don't use any special photo storing program, just that naming convention.

Sample of photo sizes from Imageevent.com (extra large and original were not posted because they would cause word wrapping on future posts)
