Hosta J 2014

Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.

Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says "Dam!"

As most of us that love June, we probably have more then one( or we should have) For a while I was taking pictures of it every chance I could because of it's beauty.

High Society in the foreground center, and JUNE FEVER to its left and JUNE SPIRIT to its right. June Fever was relocated to more sun in 2013 and is retaining its colour better here.

There also 2 OP seedlings to the left (green) and right (blue) of High Society. If you look closely, you can see the little spruce which keep seeding themselves in this bed.

June with 2 baby JuneâÂÂs that are propagations from the previous year. Photo from spring 2014. So pleased that the baby JuneâÂÂs came back after the exceptionally cold winter of 2013-14.

Hi all, this is about my second post here - I am just learning to grow hosta. Thanks again for your warm welcome last year & help with a problem. My problem now is that June wants more sun & I've got either too much sun or too much shade!

June can also be lovely in the fall. This photo was taken Nov. 3, 2013. (The two hostas behind the pot are also June. Got to have more than one June!

Lots of eye catching colour on display - courtesy of June and her offspring.
Some really impressive, mature examples of Journey's End too. Mine suffered from a setback a few years ago and has been a fairly slow grower. If it develops the same way as the aforementioned specimens, it will be worth the wait!

    Julie Morss new this year,

I cannot grow June. I have 3. Two that I have reduced to liners and 2 liners being grown as 1 plant.

  • old_dirt 6a

Can ya take another June? I think I have 6 now and a couple more in pots in the woods. All from divisions of the first one about 10 years ago.

This mother plant keeps sending up solid green/blue shoots every couple years and I take them out and end up with another single or two.

What do you call these solid color plants now? They are really quite nice in shape and substance.

Old Dirt, if you'll check here, http://www.myhostas.be/sports/index.htm#, you'll find a list of the sports. Just scroll down to June and you'll see there's quite a list. You can check for similarities at the hosta library. Your blue ones might be reversions. If so, they would be Halcyon.

Thank you bkay for the link, very informative and will help in making decisions on future purchases. I think it will tell me more of a few I do not want because I "want" most of them.

Yes, I'm sure the blue ones are simply reversions, just wasn't sure if they could be named back to the parent. That's good, it clears up a couple NOID's.
