Since we're on M's, I'm going to post a picture of H. Madison. It's not my plant. I saw it last summer in the garden of Matt Sanford, who is the hybridizer. He had it placed in a garden of all blue plants. I think he puts them together so that he can compare the amount of blue in his new plants. This one was as blue as Skylight, which was right next to it. Additionally it has these beautiful leaves and dark purple petioles. A spectacular plant, it's not yet available. I don't know if it exists outside of Matt's garden yet. I hope someday it goes to TC. I suspect it would be a big seller.

Yes Steve, Madison has been on my list since I came across her on the Hosta Library. I am still happy with the looks of a full plant. Do you have another picture showing the plants next to her, to judge size of the plant? Please let us know if/when she goes to TC.

Lots of m's...here are some favorites.

This first one has that rare orange margin. Is anyone else drawn to that color?

Some of mine look sick next to the ones already posted, but here goes. Manhattan was new last year, nothing like Mctavish's beautiful specimen.

For some reason I doubted the identity of Montana Mountain Snow. Does it look right to you?

    Hostanista,

I think I mentioned this last year but I don't think your Marquette Park is really Marquette Park. Based on the Hosta Library pics and the Hostas Database (see link below), it has light flowers and is variegated.

Whatever your plant is, I love it and am very interested to find it's true name.

Montana Aureomarginata had a couple tough years where it was eaten to the ground, but it's trying to grow.

Great variety of plants in this thread.

Terri, I found a picture of Madison and Skylight side by side. You can see that although Madison is darker, it has as much blue wax as Skylight.

    I can't believe there's a hosta named 'Mid-Life Crisis Tummy Tuck'. That's hilarious!

There are some really nice 'Montana Aureomarginata' and 'Manhattan' specimens pictured here! I can't wait until mine mature!

Here's 'Minnesota Wild' growing in a pot. I think I'm going to end up favoring this one.

Hi ilovetogrow, I had two clumps from a division, I put one in the ground and the other in a container, in the ground the leaves were green instead in the container were the colors you see in the picture, the colors remained like that throughout the season.

mctavish6 - your Mountain Snow is the most fabulous specimen I've ever seen. How old is it?

leaflover76, Montana Mountain Snow is 10 years old. It's had some rough years - being in the wrong place- growing in a pot and doing well then almost rotting away in a bad spring. It started over again from not much about three or four years ago and now seems to be doing better. All Montana's are slow as can be for me. I didn't post a picture of Montana Aureo. because though at least it now looks like it suppose to leaf size wise, it's 20 years old with about 3 eyes. It hates me. Oh... I noticed you had Moonstruck as a mini. The library says it's a small but mine seems to be at least a medium.

My pitiful little Majesty a couple days after planting last spring. Hope it turns out as nice as all those posted here.

Mildred Seaver (I hope), the border looks kind of lean compared to the ones in the Hosta Library. I figured everyone had a few of these, just to common?
