Hosta M 2014

I childproofed the house but they still get in!

I wondered why the Frisbee was getting bigger, and then it hit me.

My Friend Nancy, 3rd year, with her pal.

Another Moonie - Moon Dance - first year. Like the two toned effect of the emerging leaves. Medium.

MMA end July, 2014...in memory of my sister, Mary.
Siting in morning sun maintains yellow/ivory center...margin is seersuckered, growing at different rate than lighter center (with green veins) and causes leaf blade to twist and distort and margin to pucker. Apparently in hot, humid climates the leaf blade will expand and exhibit its characteristics better.

Looking forward to its emergence this spring!

Jo, loved the way you showed the stages of Marraketch. I think I will have to move mine. Does anyone grow it in lots of sun? Sometimes that helps keep it yellow.

To show not all of us can grow all plants. Yes, this is from 1999. At least the leaves look normal but it doesn't seem to increase despite being in a good growing location.

Morning Light. On Don Rawson's difficult to grow list. I can vouch for that. I've moved it to more light since this pic. Does anyone have a nice specimen to show?

You ladies need to take it easy on an old man with a wild imagination. First I see "curves of Marilyn Monroe", then a Mini Skirt and a few more I get a "moonie".

McTavish, your Mister Watson is gorgeous!! I miss mine..new 2013, didn't come back in 2014...:-(

Thank you...glad you appreciated the transition on Marrakech. It is viridescent so I don't know if it's possible to keep it yellow but I would imagine with more sun exposure, it could retain the yellow that much longer. (Just as I did with English Sunrise...and only a few leaves took on a pale, soft green.)
    :-)
