We've been hearing about how hard you are being hammered by weather just now in the entire eastern half of the continent it seems. (We have travelling friends in both Myrtle Beach and Savannah - bad timing).

They are sleeping and they will jump up and make us all happy in just a couple of months. Let them sleep.

Ouch! That is some Hosta Vista, Phil. My DH is thankful he is not back in MA with one thing after another coming up the east coast.

This afternoon, I'm looking at 53 F and going into the 40s overnight, then almost 70 sometime during the weekend. So if things dry out enough, I'll be out in the Back40 looking for pips and nametags before they all get misplaced. Guess it is time to haul some cypress mulch and pinebark nuggets home, and organize the black plastic pots to refresh the potting mix very soon. Any which succumbed to crown rot will be tallied, considered for replacement or attrition.

I cannot wait for my garden to look good this year. Do not despair, spring will come, hosta will put on a spectacular show for everyone.

Its snowing again this morning. Thank God. We really needed it after the 14" we got yesterday. On top of the foot already on the ground. Strange because we normally don't get much snow.

Isn't that how glaciers start?

We will have 5 days in the next week in the 40s. The sun is higher now, so in a month all the snow will be gone and the hostas well hydrated to start spring.

We got a warming trend which started Thursday. It should help those in the in the south and mid atlantic as it moves eastward. Haven't seen how it will affect those in the Northeast.

Have faith. There really is a light at the end of the tunnel. (I went outside last night in shirt sleeves.)

First inch down when I took these pictures and 12 inches expected tonight. The way it is coming down I think 12 is light.
