In about 30 days, my first sign of life is the Witch Hazel outside my home office window is in bloom.

Snowdrops are the first blooming sign of spring in my garden. Usually they are out on the first day of Spring.

Snowdrops are first here too. They usually bloom in Feb. When the snow finally goes away, there they are. Last year was late - it was the end of March. In May I can count on it looking like spring.

Looks as if spring's arriving early here on the We(s)tcoast. The first bud on this small stand of Iris reticulata opened January 31st, which is the earliest I recall seeing it open.

McT, just beautiful, love the tulips interspersed in.
Manyhosta great shot of the snowdrops, every time I see some blooming I wonder why I don't have more of them.
HH--glorious pic of a river of hostas.
Swmo, lovely witch hazel, why don't I have witch hazel in my garden, must make a mental note to myself.

Forecast says possibly another foot or two of snow tomorrow for us in the NE. I know it is good for my plants, but it sure makes thoughts of spring seem far away.
