Who are these guys?

Perhaps its because its February, and its cold, and more snow is due, but there are a few hosta named after people and I have often wondered who these people were. I've enjoyed my hosta 'Alvatine Taylor' for many years but have no idea who this person is/was or if indeed it was a real person. Does anyone know? I don't know the originator enough to ask him.

And, no, I will not ask who Montana Aureomarginata is.

If, however, you have a name you'd like to know who it is, feel free to ask here.

tj, you can ask that question. That was Joe Montana with his golden fringed uniform on.
Otherwise, like hosta hybridizer Dick Ward, can be found in the link. Bernd
