This has been the Winter here in N.W. Ohio. Record cold - almost a foot of snow over what used to be the record snow fall. I would complain, but the snow fall came just before the record temperature drops. What a great snow blanket to keep my hostas safe. Now with the temperatures slowly modifying, I'm expecting pips in about a month. Hopefully even later, as I hate those late freezes on my half unfurled leaves. I'm trying to learn patience, but it has never been one of my long suits! I'm ready to see how last year's new bed is going to turn out and to get my hundred plus potted ones repotted and positioned. Yea Springtime!

Just tromped thru light snow in the yard to check my in ground plants. Fire & Ice and a small Dream Queen flooded by melting snow. One" So Sweet" showing pips, the rest still blanketed by snow. Spring better hurry up---- PATIENCE--- is not one of my better qualities.

I wish you all lots of luck as things thaw and the water drains away. So far, I've found three not making it with our wet winter and squirrel predation.

Correction: I have pips coming up, found several plants with them just starting to show. Hope it's not too, too early. Oh well. No stopping 'em now.
