new solution to slug problem

This is from a Q.&A. column in Cottage Life magazine...."Yes you can eat them. You should definitely cook them, to kill any parasites."....Submerge the live ones in a 50:50 vinegar/water solution. This will kill them and get rid of some of the slime. Next, boil them for 3 minutes, changing the water a few times. Finally remove the slugs' 'foul tasting' digestive glands. Cut a longitudinal slit in the posterior end and peel back the skin, kind of like peeling a banana. The gland can occupy the posterior third of the internal organs. I simply snip it off.

Obviously they are referring to those huge fellows some of you grow, not the tiny Ontario version I see. They would require surgical tools to peel and snip lol.

Looking forward to progress reports.....
