First Frost

I just bought one yesterday! But mine is really, really blue compared to those pics! Gorgeous hosta, either way.

I actually started a thread commenting on my blues being so green this year. All of them - Halcyon, El Nino, etc. I don't know why.

Mine is up its second year, is still not completely "up" so a bit yet on the small side but lovely nonetheless. I just realized that I don't think FF is capable of looking bad, ever! It's gorgeous when it unfurls and even more gorgeous when the margin lightens up. Even slugs leave it alone! Yes!

The leaf showing half and half colour was actually attached to the leaf beside it..I had to tug it apart. It grew right into its neighbouring leaf and sliced through it when unfurling.

Jo- Someone wonderfully named that phenomenon hosta "thumbs" years ago. Her name escapes me but it is SO descriptive I have 2 or 3 of those this year too.

Babka, I find that delightfully funny! I'm so glad you thought of posting that little tidbit - it sure looks like a thumb now that you mention it - kinda cute!
